The Baku Initiative Group organized an international conference in Baku, titled “France's neocolonialism policy in Africa”
The Baku Initiative Group hosted an international conference on “France's neocolonialism policy in Africa” in our capital, which has emerged as a global hub for critical dialogues on decolonization. The event brought together a diverse group of participants, including political figures, diplomats, decolonization experts, legal scholars, foreign media representatives, NGO leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps from 11 African nations. Notably, attendees also included representatives from Mayotte Island, which remains under French occupation as part of the Union of the Comoros, as well as participants from the Netherlands.
This conference marked the 16th anti-colonial event organized by the Baku Initiative Group and the first international event specifically focused on Africa.
Throughout the proceedings, participants underscored the enduring impact of France's neo-colonial policies, providing the global community with in-depth insights into France's ongoing economic colonial practices in African countries. Despite these nations having attained de jure independence, the discussions revealed the persistence of neo-colonial exploitation that continues to shape their political and economic landscapes.
