Young Footballers from Kanaky (New Caledonia) and Maʻohi Nui (French Polynesia) in Azerbaijan!
The teams of Kanaky–New Caledonia and French Polynesia (Maʻohi Nui) will participate in the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival, taking place in Baku from October 22 to 30, 2026.
The Baku Initiative Group (BIG) has shared a message on this occasion.
In its post titled “From the Pacific to Azerbaijan – Football Unites Us!”, BIG wished the young footballers from both territories every success.
BIG expressed its hope that the young athletes’ visit to Azerbaijan would provide a valuable opportunity to build new friendships, gain unforgettable experiences, and showcase the rich cultures and traditions of their peoples to the world. The organization also emphasized that football is more than just a sport. It is a powerful means of bringing young people together, building bridges between different cultures, and inspiring hope for a better future.
